Could a new house built on foundations poured at different times?

Our new house in under construction now. The builder made a mistake by putting our house 10-foot further away from the curb than where we wanted. Before we knew it, they already put in the footer and poured the concrete to the foundation. Now they want to solve this problem by adding new foundation to the existing one to make the house 10-foot forward. Is this solution acceptable? Will the new and existing foundation separate later and cause cracks and even worse structure problems? What will be the best solution. ThanksCould a new house built on foundations poured at different times?
It may crack/separate/sink/settle at a different rate than the original.

If it was truly the builder's error and the plans clearly identified the correct location, you can certainly fight to have a completely new foundation poured.
