We are buying an end of terrace house built in 1890. Next door is an office block with a gap of about 3';?

between the house and offices. I imagine the offices were built around the 50's or 60's. Could this cause a damp problem on our house or do adjoining properties have to put in some kind of soakaway so moisture wont build up between the walls? Would a structual report answer this question? Thanks. We are buying an end of terrace house built in 1890. Next door is an office block with a gap of about 3';?
You will need professional advice to be on the safe side .We are buying an end of terrace house built in 1890. Next door is an office block with a gap of about 3';?
If you have only a 3 inch gap how will you manage to mantain that wall?
do not touch it.

this 3inch gap allows time travelers to go to 1939-1945,from our time? and who knows/from the future??
yes
i lived in a end terrace exactly the same with 3'; gap between us and next door for twenty years when i was growing up and there was never a problem, my parents still live there and no problems have arisen in another 10 years so that's 30 in all. the house is well over 100 years old so i wouldn't worry 2 much
my advice to you is to leave it but it all depends how much you really want the property but it could be picked up on survey and lose your survey fee and also it could (not saying will) give you problems at a later date

no they don't have to put soak aways in i would avoid buying because of maintenance on your wall like pointing or damp proofing wall
