I am remodeling a house built in 1954 and I have a floor in one room that looks like corkscrew?

I was wondering if anyone has any idea what this flooring is and if it possibly contains asbestos. It is not a vinyl tile, it actually looks and feels like corkscrew! Any help would be great- thanksI am remodeling a house built in 1954 and I have a floor in one room that looks like corkscrew?

If it really is cork, that's a very ';green'; flooring so if you're going to keep it then that is great for the environment! also, since it's cushy it's good for your feet and back.
Cork flooring is a great type of flooring because it is resilient to any kind of harsh damages.
I've heard sometimes subflooring can have asbestos
