Farmers diversifying into land development and house building use their tractors and machinery to do the work?

Do you think any of them buy ordinary deisel to run them when not doing farm work.

I'm almost certain that the large construction firms don't get an allowance of red duty free deiselFarmers diversifying into land development and house building use their tractors and machinery to do the work?

John, I am not sure what point you are trying to make?

If a farmer is developing their land for their own use, ie putting a house on it, then yes they can use red derv, however the price differential now is minimal to white derv.

Most new build gets a redution in the VAT costs, so thoses big construction firms do get rebates of a sort and usually have better equipment to do the task and take less time. So the full cost of derv isn't paid by the corporates anyway?
I just don't know how I have lived my life not knowing the answer to this question...
