House building in the South East?

Can someone tell me why it is the main aim of this Government to concrete over the entire South of England? The roads are already so crammed with cars and lorries that you can sit in your car for hours, just to go on a short journey; the schools over subscribed and the waiting lists at the hospitals at breaking point. However, that doesn't deter them. They just repeat 'we need more homes'. With hundreds of thousands of people coming in from the new EU member states, of course we do, but why does it always have to be in the South East, when there are so many other areas crying out for regeneration. If it comes to that, when are we going to be allowed [by the EU incidentally] to say 'no more' people.House building in the South East?
The area I lived in, in the UK was very rural and that was Surrey close to London. The roads were busy but that was the fault of John Majors government who curtailed road building to save money. Surrey was and still is a beautiful place to live. I go back often and I see no concrete jungles and life goes on pretty much the same. I have noticed though. There is far too much aggression on British roads compared to where I live.


As for thousands moving to the UK each year, you have to remember there are thousands moving out. Most go to other EU countries because they have a right to do so, just the same as others from the EU moving to Britain. Britain has become very insular. It is the only EU country with closed borders. I live in Spain where people do not dislike immigrants. The only EU country that hates immigrants is the UK.


Britain has always hated immigrants. I remember the 1950麓s when people were encouraged to move here. Britain needed immigrants then but the people hated them. Nothing changes I麓m afraid.House building in the South East?
The is not a perfect world.The tiny UK is crowded and educated families are getting out as they see they way things are.Crime involving eastern Europeans are in 1000's rather than in 100's as they were a year ago - numbers are down in their Romania!More control on illegal immigration is a must.

Our government just let any person in they have let aload of the pakistans and indians in I think they should be sent back to were they come from am sure if you did a survey in this country there are not many british people left it is built on all foreigners.





I think the government need to do something about itfast if not then we are going to be over run with foreigners and hardly any english people.





They should just stop all foreigners getting help with housing gas electric food and getting the state benefits.





If foreigners can't work when they wanna move to this country then they should be shipped back and refused entry back to the UK at any cost thru lorries ships and whatever else thy can enter into the country illegally
The population is growing, yes. The numbers coming in and being born far exeed the numbers going out and dying.





Where I am (East Anglia), there are definately defined areas for developement. which means you go from concrete to fields within yards.





Even so, my local town has about doubled in population size in the last five or so years.





And what with the insane house prices the unbalanced population : housing ratio is inducing, I have no hope in hell of getting a house anywhere near where I have lived all my life.
